Dear Friends of Girsh Park,

As the year comes to a close, we at Girsh Park want to send our best wishes to you and your family. Everyday thousands of people just like you use Girsh Park for an array of activities. Our main goal is to keep the facility in good working order so that the programs and events at Girsh Park can operate in a safe and clean environment.

The private/public partnership created with the City of Goleta is a model for operating an active recreational facility for the public to use. This unique non-profit business plan creates a place for community programs and events to occur. Programs and events like Dos Pueblos Little League, AYSO, Santa Barbara Women’s Soccer Organization, 4th of July Fireworks Festival, The Lemon Festival, Wags n’ Whiskers Festival, and the Girsh Park Egg Hunt would not have a home if it weren’t for Girsh Park.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to keep Girsh Park open 365 days a year? With a very lean annual operating budget of $400,000, Girsh Park is able to keep the park in good working order year round. The Friends of Girsh Park helps to fund 3% of our annual operating budget. This might sound small to you, but it is critical to keeping the grass watered, picnic areas clean, and fields manicured.

Our Friends include sponsors and donors that not only support the park financially, but several extend discounts and in-kind donations in order to keep our overall costs down. Companies and Organizations like Marborg Industries, Camino Real Marketplace, Santa Barbara AYSO, City of Goleta, Cottage Health Systems, Montecito Bank and Trust, and many more help to keep Girsh Park financially sustainable. Every little bit helps to keep our operation running smoothly, and ensures that the programs and events at Girsh Park thrive for many years to come.
