Linehan Family Basketball Courts

Linehan Family Courts are two high quality basketball courts located in Girsh Park. Complete with glass backboards, rugged multi-sport surface, and break away rims, pickup games are almost always going on. The courts are named in the honor of Mark Linehan, of the Wynmark Company, who built Girsh Park and the neighboring Camino Real Marketplace.

About Mark Linehan

Mark Linehan, a basketball fan and president of Wynmark Company, was the developer that created the Camino Real Marketplace, and along with it, Girsh Park. At the time, Goleta did not have any active park facilities, and Mark thought that the perfect solution was a sports complex to the south of his marketplace project. He built the original twelve-acre Camino Real Park in 1999 and built baseball fields on his property west of the park for Dos Pueblos Little League to use. His massive efforts helped create The Foundation for Girsh Park, the owner and operator of the now 25 acres ‘Lester A. and Viola S. Girsh Park’. For all of Mark’s efforts to help create Girsh Park, the basketball courts are now known as ‘Linehan Family Courts’.
