Elings Fields
Elings Fields is truly a multi-use facility. Dos Pueblos Little League, AYSO 10 and under soccer divisions, the Challengers Division of DPLL, GoodLand Baseball Tournaments and countless other user groups call Elings Fields their home. There are four baseball fields including one full sized, and three small or youth sized fields.
Each field can be rented for games, practices, parties, picnics, and special events. Available field space is limited, and we require that you rent the facility for any organized event or program. Liability insurance is required for all athletic field reservations. For more info on field dimensions and age groups, see the descriptions below.

Little League Fields
Elings Fields #1, #2, and #3
The smaller Little League sized fields are specifically designed for youth play only. Adult sports are not permitted on these fields. Each field is set at the specific dimension for each league. There are various base placements for multiple age groups on each field. Base pegs are set at 60′, 65′ and 70′. We often slightly modify the distance between home plate and the pitchers rubber to allow multiple age groups to use the fields. Youth soccer, lacrosse, and rugby are also permitted on these fields. The temporary outfield fences are removed to allow these other sports to use the field. The complex also has two batting tunnels for practice or warm up.

About Virgil Elings

MIT Department of Physics Photo
In 2005, Dr. Virgil Elings helped to complete the Fields Forever Capital Campaign by donating $1,000,000 to the cause.
The overall $5.6 million campaign was a very important in the history of Girsh Park, because it more than doubled the size of the Girsh Park. It created a permanent home for Dos Pueblos Little League, and eventually AYSO Region 122.
To honor Dr. Elings, that half of the Girsh Park facility is named Elings Fields.
About MarBorg Industries and the Borgatello Family

The Borgatellos at the MarBorg Industries Fieldhouse Dedication
In 2000, MarBorg Industries began donating full trash services to Girsh Park, saving the expense for this non-profit park for decades. At the time, David Borgatello, of Marborg Industries, was a member of the Girsh Park board of directors and passionately believed in the park’s mission to provide a park for the community.
In 2012, The Foundation for Girsh Park started raising funds for the Fields Forever 3 Capital Campaign to improve the Park by adding new restrooms, playgrounds, batting cages and a concession stand. The most pressing issue the campaign focused on was the problem of not having restrooms on the west end of the park. Various groups like Dos Pueblos Little League and AYSO utilized portable toilets for over a decade to make due.
MarBorg Industries once again stepped up to the plate and hit a home run for Girsh Park by making a significant donation to complete the campaign. For everything that MarBorg Industries and the Borgatello Family have done for Girsh Park over the years, our board named the new building 'MarBorg Industries Fieldhouse'.
